Do you want help reducing your impact on the environment? Ask your Good Karma Network!

July 18, 2020

Our latest community story comes from the Richmond Good Karma Network!

Richmond is one of the Melbourne suburbs that doesn't yet have green waste bins as part of the weekly rubbish and recycling collection, so we were stoked to see a member of the community ask for help with their beginner hot composting project!

Hot composting accelerates the rate materials decompose at, but when the community member had far more leaves than green vegetation, their project hit a fork in the road.

A quick ask to see if anyone had any green vegetation to share not only helped solve the issue but also gave an opportunity for other community members to dispose of their waste in an environmentally friendly way! This story showcases how community connection can come from a variety of sources and that solving a problem for one person really can be multiple people’s gain.
